Q: How can I go about getting a plot?

A: By all means - please do! I welcome any corrections you may have, however small. Please send an email or leave a message on the forum.
Q: Can I submit my photos/drawings/poems to the website?
A: Certainly! Please send all contributions in one of the ways listed on the contact page. If you require assistance, please send an email to one of us or post in the forum and we will try to help.
Q: Why are the photographs so small?
A: The hosting company does not allow enough bandwidth or storage space for larger pictures. It is also to prevent theft of the photos.
Q: Can I use some of the photos/drawings/poems?
A: Sorry, but no. The artwork and poetry on this site are from different people, some of whom have not given permission for their work to be copied or used in any other way. Using or copying their work, or indeed any work contained within this site without the express persmission of the orignal author/artist/creator is against international copyright laws.
If you would like permission to use any of the work shown on this site, please contact us in one of the ways listed on the 'Contact' page. (But do not use the phone number for Birmingham City Council - they will not be able to help!)
Q: How do I post in the forum?
A: If you haven't posted before, you must first register. To do this, click on 'Register' and fill in the boxes with your details and your required username and password. It's easy to register and is completely free of charge. We will not share your email address with anyone. Remember your username and password - you will need these to log in again next time you wish to use the forum.
If you would like to start a new 'thread' (topic/conversation/discussion), go to the relevant section of the forum and click on 'Create new topic'. Write a subject and your message (and your email address if you wish to be notified of replies) and click on 'Post'.

Q: Some of the content is hosted on a different site. Why is this?
A: The hosting company only allows basic (free) accounts a maximum of twenty pages. This was insufficient for this website, so a second account has been set up for some of the pages. This will also sometimes cause most of the main navigation links underneath the site header to disappear. This is not an error and you can easily go back to the main page by clicking on 'Home'. It's not ideal, but it'll do!
Q: I have noticed adverts on the site. Does Billesley Lane Allotments Association profit from these?
A: No. This website is hosted by Freewebs. They host our site for free but they fund this by placing adverts on the site. Therefore we receive nothing from the adverts - any funds generated go directly to Freewebs.
